Hi everyone , I have a 2013 R27 and have been doing the service on the D3 myself , right to the letter , of the manual . This year , do to family stuff , i will only have about 30 hours max this season . The manual says 100-200 hrs or 12 months . I was going to change the engine oil and filter , but am debating on the fuel filters , trans . fluid and filter , other filters etc. I add a fuel additive so i don't think i will have gummed up fuel . I am fussy about maintenance but think to do the full deal would be excessive . I have made my step removable , which really helps for engine access but still , as you know , Volvo parts are expensive . What do you think ? thanks

My opinion would be go by the hours. Even changing the oil after 30 hours seems to be a bit of a waste. As long as you intend to use it more I see no issue. I wouldn't bother with the fuel filters either. If your fuel is bad it will only plug up the good filter. Run the engine and if you start having issues then change the filters.

Thanks Mike for the opinion , hopefully i will get some more tomorrow .

I'm sure you will get varied opinions but here is mine based on some years of experience in the drive business.

Change the transmission filter, don't worry about the fluid. You will pick up any unhealthy stuff that has accumulated either from wear or from lying idle. For the engine, depends on what oil you are using. If it's synthetic, change the filter and leave the oil alone. Same reasoning as for the transmission. If it's not synthetic, change both. If you are still within warranty, go by the maintenance schedule and ignore my advice.
