I have misplaced my manual - can anyone please tell me the proper process to change control from the cabin to the command bridge?

thanks,

put in neutral at existing station.
walk to other console and press the station button. start using the new control.

Hello,

The above post is correct, when leaving the bridge make sure you switch stations before putting the canvas on as it could accidentally engage the transmission. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thank you both. So I don't have to "engage" anything on the cabin control to start using the bridge controls, only put the cabin control in neutral and engage the bridge control properly?

That is correct, unless you've locked the cabin control station.

By the way, Volvo will send you one free hardcopy manual a year. You can actually get two, as there are two different manuals (content the same, layout different, one in color one in B&W) for our engines.

One more consideration - I'll share from my own mistakes.

When moving from inside station to bridge, if the command bridge control is pushed slightly forward and not actually in neutral (which could have been done by the cover, the station will not take over when you push the button to engage. It's sometimes hard to tell because the control itself is on a slight angle, unlike the lower helm which sits perfectly flush.

Enjoy!

FlyMeAway, how do we request an extra manual? In their online store, they sell them for $49 (after putting in serial number). Call them? I don't want to abuse the system but would love a second copy at home.

I'll PM you.

Yes yes yes. A real possibility. Don’t be tempted to do this until the engine is off.

And make sure that you didn’t lock the station that you are leaving. If you do, you will see a red lock icon.

When is it appropriate to lock the unit?

Is this so others cannot have control from the "other" helm while you are operating the boat?

Yes. I accidentally locked it once and took a minute to figure out why I couldn’t transfer to the CB station.

One way to use it is if you want to put on the canvas on the CB station while underway, you can transfer the control to the main helm station and lock it. You can then put on the canvas without the danger of engaging the CB throttle when doing so.
