I never heard about the over load of information and suppressing information. This could be true I don't know. I will question when was the last software update that you did? I question that only because a Garmin Technician told me many times when there are small interruptions in the communication or a loss of information.It can be caused by a Bug??? I experienced this a few years ago. I would be cruising and loose information on my 7612 almost as if it paused. If I shut the unit off it still did not respond. If I shut the engine off and then turned all battery switches to off, wait a few seconds turn battery switched on, turn chart plotter on then Start panel all information is available again. The Garmin technician advised confirm all connections are tight, there is a good power source to the backbone and update the software to the newest version. I did and the issue went away. I asked him what was causing the issue. He said that is above me that is what our engineers do, find issues, ways to correct issues.
