Volvo D4 Turbo problem

Turbo only occasionally will spool up after 2500 rpm on Volvo D4 engine. Anyone else have this problem? Mechanics have thoroughly checked engine and have not found any problem with turbo.
 
The D4 turbo is a non waste gate Turbo. It has a history of coke building up at turbine wheel to turbo housing. When it does this it gets stuck and will not spin up properly. remove the exhaust riser and inspect it. Clean the wheel and check for free movement. Most cases this will take care of your issue.
 
Thanks for the response.The mechanic did this first thing.They have ordered a electrical component that controls the turbo boost, that's been erratic, hope it works! Will know tomorrow.
 
Hey I'm having the same issue on my D6 just curious, was it the sensor or turbine wheel?
