Volvo Penta antifreeze

2019 c28 260 hp Penta engine. Please advise what antifreeze by brand I need to top up the engine coolant. The engine manual says use a Volvo brand anti freeze which is probably much more expensive than an off the shelf brand. Thanks.

Would advise you use the volvo branded coolant. It's $38 for 5 liters from this site, no tax and free shipping:

Hi,

I have a Volvo Penta D4-260 also. I have always used the Volvo VCS coolant. This is the one with the yellow top. Worth the expense in my opinion.

Volvo does make another coolant for other engines, you definitely don't want that.

If you can't find Volvo VCS coolant local to your area you can order it online.
