Vulcan 12 "fit" on a C24, early C28?

I'm wondering if you factory folks have fitted a Vulcan 12 on a C24 or earlier C28 -or- which anchor you have upgraded to (from the stock Lewmar) for the serious kind of boating you occasionally do. I do have the Vulcan measurement stats but they aren't too helpful with the chord and width 'fit' on the C24/early C28 anchor platforms. I'll be beefing up the anchor on a 2022 C248 once I can get my hands on it, but I'd welcome hearing any recs you folks have based on your experiences. And thanks for supporting this Tugnuts forum. BIG help to those of us new to Fluid Motion boats!

The Vulcan 10 doesn’t fit in my testing.

Rocna is a better shape for the roller.

I don't see a Vulcan 10 available today, only an original Rocna 10. On the sizing chart, it only shows a Vulcan 9 and Vulcan 12.

Were you perhaps referring to the Vulcan 12? Or maybe 9?

Sorry typo. 12 doesn’t fit. It was my preferred choice when the rocna 15 didn’t fit. The rocna 10 is still a tight fit. I have about 3mm from the point of the rocna to the hill plate.

I tested this about 5 years ago when the Vulcan was released. The shape just doesn’t do well with the roller design.
It’s a shame. Good anchor.

Just to put this thread to bed, I put a Rocna Vulcan 12 (26#) anchor on my C248 and it fit nicely. The one mod I made was to slip some 3/8" vinyl tubing over the stainless bow above the roller that captures the chain. This eliminates any chafe of the bow on the anchor's galvanizing after the anchor is brought home under tension by the windlass.

Also a related note: I purchased the Vulcan 12 from Camping World. It came fully wrapped & protected by Rocna in the same fashion as West Marine and was almost to the penny one half the WM cost. WM does offer a price matching policy for major on-line vendors like Amazon. I paid an extra $15 to CW for expedited ground delivery and it arrived in 2 days. I was surprised...and pleased.
