Anyone have any experience with this product? They've always intrigued me at the boat show, but I've never seen one on the water.

Thanks,

Bruce

Well, the tandem is $999.00. The literature shows it being 27 pounds. I would guess that as with any kayak you may be a bit wet after use. I would also assume it wouldn't be too cumbersome to inflate in the cockpit. Hopefully someone has some firsthand experience.

Dan purchased a tandem at the boat show, we tried it out the week it arrived in May at Jarrel Cove. It leaked the very first time we had it in the water, so we returned it but had to pay a restocking fee of $100 which didn't make us too happy. It was on order for several months before it came, that was ok since it was winter. We didn't care for the sit on top exposure vs. being in a more protected cockpit, and have reverted to using our old inflatables. You can see the Walker Bay on our blog for the Jarrell Cove entries, www.bioaquatics.com/hokukai. Also, it really wasn't very comfortable and felt too small for the two of us. I really prefer a single kayak so that I can go where I want. It also took up more space than our two old inflatables, so boat storage was an issue. Hope this helps. The Walker Bay just didn't work for us or meet our needs. It might be great in really warm water without a lot of wave action.
