wall mounting various things in cabin

Is it possible / advisable to screw things into the vinyl (assuming its vinyl or faux leather) material on the walls in the C-30 cabin? I would like to mount some magnetic plates to hold up a custom kitchen knife holder I have. What is behind the vinyl, fiberglass? I tried using 3m stick to hold the magnets for the mount to the vinyl, and they are quickly failing.

Recommend Gorilla mounting tape. I use it for a 18” magnetic knife/tool bar.

Thanks. I’ve got some of that, but have had mixed results with it in a marine environment. I can give it another shot.

Before applying the 2 side tape wipe a little acetone on both surfaces you are applying the tape too. This makes things stick a bit better.
