I have a cutwater 30 and every time we flush the head we get a foul smell outside
I read that it could be a filter in the system that go wet when it was over filled
Has any one else had it. And where is the filter any help would be appreciated

There is no factory installed odor filter on the C30. The odor you smell is the "sewer gas" being pushed out the black water tank from the water coming into the tank, during flush.

The designers conveniently located the vent, right outside the helm window, and close to the head window, so we c30 owners could frequently enjoy the smell of Mother Nature.

I put in a charcoal filter and fresh water flush. I also pump out frequently to not let the black water tank stew quite so much.

what type of filter did you put in

Air force or the orange one

I made my own. Just search this site for waste tank filter. Brian had pretty good plans for one. I located mine in the cave, behind the mouse fur panel, under the helm throttle, right near the vent. I've had it for over a year. Very happy.

Is the vent the small pipe coming off the tank. I have 4 pipes coming off the tank.
3 off them are over an inch wide. The other is about 1/2 inch. I am assuming that is the vent

I’m the one who started the above referenced thread. Followed the instructions and built one myself. Pretty easy to do if you pull out the “bait tank” that the RT25 Classic has to access the black water vent line.
We went from thinking we were going to die from the toxic fumes to literally no smell at all. This spring I spent 30 minutes replacing the charcoal and the filter should be good for another season or longer!
PS: We also started double draining the black water tank every time. Pump it out dry then add water through the pump out fitting and lots of toilet flushing and then pump out a second time. Add recommended chemicals. I think those steps really help as well!

I am going to do the same thing,, try to make my own However I am unsure as to which pipe is the vent
I cant follow them to determine which one is for the pump and which one is the vent

is the vent the 1/2 or the 1 inch line the other 2 are marked as waste so I am assuming that one is coming from the head and the other is for the pump out

I presume you're looking under the bed to see these lines. Yes it is the 1/2 line.

Mount your filter such that liquid will not enter it, even from the waste sloshing around. I did not think I could be successful with preventing this by mounting it under the mattress.

Thanks Kip
I didn't even think of that, about the waste getting into the line
so you brought the line out of the access and and under the mattress

smart thanks for the heads up

Sorry I confused you. No I did not reroute the vent hose. I cut into the hose about 12" from where it vents through the hull, and installed my canister there.

yes I understand now and that is how I am going to do mine
thank you for all your help
THanks to everyone who helped out

this is a great site
