My new to me 2020 R23 has a red light above the toilet to indicate when Waste Tank is full. How can I troubleshoot or test this light? Where can I access the transmitter for this light?

Can you share a pic of the light?

Hi Craigmconrad,

The sensor for the holding tank is located on the holding tank itself. I am not 100% sure on the 23, but it should be accessible through an access plate located around the steps into the v-berth. (stand in the v-berth and look down by the steps) The tank is located on top of the front of the fuel tank under the forward end of the main cabin floor. Also, make sure the tank is actually not full before testing. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf

Under the step is a fiberglass wall between the shower sump going aft, it must be under the refrigerator or aft of the fiberglass wall

We have the R-23 without a black tank indicator and I’m actually ok with that. As previously mentioned on this site the indicator light only comes on when the tank is full so you have to be aware of how much water and waste has been flushed. This is one reason why we only use fresh water to flush. We keep a gallon jug in the head to measure the amount of water we use with each flush and keep a tally on how many gallons we use. When we reach about 9-gallons of fresh water flushed we know it’s time to get the tank pumped out.

I’m going to do the same, it’s just a pet peeve of mine to have something onboard not working, especially when it’s 12v powered, would love to pull fuse and forget about it, but haven’t found one yet.

I know about the pet peeve monster. I’m still looking for the hidden solar control panel! The remote shows everything is working ok but I sure would like to find the controller. I’ve followed all the leads I’ve been given to no avail. I just telling myself, it’s a boat, it’s a boat, it’s a boat. Thanks

Here is what’s under the refrigerator:

Thanks for the help. The waste tank in the 23 must be under the center floor forward of the freshwater tank. I just don't know how to access it. I would also like to know where the 12v power is tied into? What circuit is it on? Two wires are leading to the light; where does the third wire go to?
