I have read the threads of comments about getting good fresh water for use on the Rangers.
I would like to install an onboard filter unit (under the sink in the galley) on my R31 and wonder what brand or type you would recommend. I know that with the fresh water pump being limited in it's output, a suitable filter must not reduce the water pressure to an unacceptable level.
Thanks for this

Hi! I have a simple filter system that is installed under the counter. There is a small faucet next to the regular faucet, which provides me with great filtered water for drinking or cooking, while the normal output continues through the regular faucets.

I have not notice any diminuation of water pressure, probably because you would not be likely to use both faucets at the same time.

It's not complicated, the filter cartridges are easy to replace, and I have no qualms about drinking the water from my tank.

I don't recall the exact brand , but will check and get back with you. They are readily available....as are the filters.

We have an R27 and I installed a small canister system I bought from http://www.rvwaterfilterstore. I installed the canister near the fresh water pump in the starboard cockpit locker. In fact, this is the second such system we've used on boats. Here is info on the filter:
Model: F1Pb (CFB-PB10)
Class: I
Microns: .5
Flow: 3-4 gallons/minute
Life: 6-12 months
Material: fiber block carbon
Notes: Removes cysts, lead and heavy metals, and is naturally resistant to stagnation due to fiber material

And this is the canister: Single Canister, White with 1/2" pipe thread ports and no fittings. Wrench included.

It came to about $40 not including misc. fittings and hose clamps. We always have delicious tasting water.

The only system I have experience with is the Seagull. It works beautifully, although it is a little pricey. The cost is over $400 and the filters are $65 each and last 2 years. I'm sure there are less expensive models. I used to drink my tank water, make coffee, cook and I didn't have to carry bottled water. Over this winter, I will install something on my R27.
