We got the 25 FT curly black water deck hose that came with our STELLA 25SC. However, we are not really happy with the way it stores and hangs and would prefer one of the pocket hoses "as seen on T.V." However, before I go ahead and try one of these guys thought I would get some advice from the tugnuts or from anyone who has tried one of these. This "as seen on T.V." stuff is usually not the highest quality. Any info appreciated. The two I have seen are TOP BRASS POCKET HOSE 50 FT (did not see a 25 footer), and X HOSE PRO SUPREME (25 or 50 ft).

Thanks, Jim

Jim,
We went through two of the X hoses within a month of use. The hoses were treated gently, too. Save your money on that brand. We went back to the 25foot white RV hose with no issues.

The expanding hose is great while it lasts. My first one lasted 6 months and then popped. Others I have talked to have similar accounts.

We went through two of them in very short order, and they were babied. Definitely not cut out for use on a boat. Great premise... just not robust enough.

Spiral hose under the decks, white RV hose at the dock. Pocket hoses are great but mine never lasted. Best of luck...

We're gardeners and have tried X hoses for years. Great concept; terrible execution. The X Pros with brass fittings were the best, but still blew out within one season. Fisheries in Seattle has a coiled hose that comes in/stores in its own tube case. That satisfies the storage issue. Now if only the hose didn't catch on everything between the faucet and me, I'd be a happy mariner!

I'm on my 3rd one If you get from a major store they will replace.. I use Home Depot.. I think they break from stretching them when the are under pressurized... They are handy but need good pressure to get their full length

Thanks for the response. Now I know I will not be wasting my money on the "as seen on T.V." hose!

Yeah, I was sucked into the flex-hose as well. I have gone through 2 and am now on #3. They are just so damn convenient to have on board when away from the home slip and in need of a wash down.

I just purchased the black 50' DAP X-Hose Pro Extreme. They have made significant improvements, but who knows.

I will keep you posted.
