My search light lens gets significant condensation inside of it. Anyone else have this issue and how does one correct it? It is so much that the light is ineffective.

Good morning,

Mine had water in it too because there was a crack on the housing, what I do now, is leave the light pointing down a bit so that any water or condensation will exit the housing by gravity...

Not to change the subject, when do you use a searchlight? we cruised for the first time in the evening ( we didn't leave early enough to get to our destination in the day light, so we cruised about 40 min after sunset the other night. We slowed down to about 7 knots, and used the gps to navigate ourselves to the marina. Can you use the searchlight during the cruise? or is it only used during docking?

You can use it while cruising. The floodlight mode would be best. Depending on how it is mounted will depend on what visibility you get. The earlier model boats had it mounted low and the reflection off the bow rails were somewhat blinding. Hence a bit useless. I prefer cruising with daylight. Too many things in the water that may not be seen at night.

Marinco is replacing my spotlight. They are very nice to work with.
