I am experiencing considerable water marking, not quite stains, but a deposit on the blue hull. Perhaps they are calcium related but definitely from the fresh water. I have tried unsuccessfuly to clean them off with water, but with limited success. Perhaps a car type wash or boat soap might do the trick; but I am concerned that I might remove all the wax. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same fresh water-related problem on my red hull. I will be very interested in the solution....

There is a Turtle Wax spray product called Wax and Dry spray wax. Sometimes found at Wal-Mart. Pep Boys has it along with AutoZone. It costs about six dollars it comes in green colored spray bottle. I was told about this stuff as I have black truck. Wash the truck or boat don't let it dry. Spray the area while it's still wet. Sparingly in an effort to get it in the general area to be dried. You don't need to cover the entire area to be dried as it seems to spread while you are drying with a towel.. No need to saturate the whole area. Dry with terry cloth towel. It smells like coconut oil and will give you amazing results. It will bead water like you just waxed it. I have a dark blue hull and have used it with the same amazing results. I wash one side of the boat spray it sparingly along the hull sides and dry with a towel. Then I wash the other side and dry that so drying won't be an issue. If you let it dry and water spots are already developed it will not work as well. Normally I wash my whole truck but waste no time spraying it quickly and getting it dry. My truck is a 2009 Chevy and it still shines like it was just waxed. I just sent a bottle to Jim Favors as no one I have seen keeps a cleaner boat or truck than he does. I'm waiting for his report. This stuff is the bomb. It does not fix oxidation.

Dave, I just received the Turtle Wax spray today and it does have a nice aroma. I'll get to try it next week. Regarding water spots add some white vinegar to your boat soap and test a small area then proceed. If you let the diluted vinegar rest to long on the boat hull it will take the wax off. If you wash the hull with this mixture and rinse it in a timely manner it should take your spots off and leave the wax. Or wait until its time to wax the hull and apply the vinegar in a less diluted condition and let it rest a little longer on the hull before rinsing....not too long.....wash one side and as it sits go to the other side to wash it. Return to the first side to rinse and you should be good to go.

I've been using Water Spot Remover for years on my black hull. I've tried many spot removers to no avail, this works perfect. I have several lakes that I frequent that leave water spots and this is the only product that has worked for me. I use it as a wipe down after boating and that's all I really use to keep my boat clean.

Here's a link http://www.nauticalease.com/products/spotremover.htm

I've told many other boaters here in Michigan about it (it used to be made here)

Good luck! Mike

Water and vinegar in a garden sprayer will remove these spots. We used this on Solitude and Stella Maris when we used them on Lake Mead. 3 Parts water, 1 part vinegar. Spray on, wipe off.
