Water Temp?? 25 SC 2014 GARMIN 7212

2014 25 SC

So my GARMIN 7212 has a screen that shows water temp?? No reading.....is this an extra that might be not included with my boat?


Is it usually part of the sensor that measures depth? Can I turn on this feature?

You probably have the Airmar P79 transducer mounted on the inside of the hull. You will not get temp readings with this setup.

Yep, you need a thru-hull type of transducer to get water temps. I use a digital laser thermometer for the times I am looking for water temps. I also use it to check shaft temps at the stuffing box. Usually a 10 to 15 degree difference between water temp and temp at stuffing nut is normal.
