Andrew: I continuously have water under the sink/fishing basin in rear of boat. I noticed the 2 cup holders have no drain tubes. Is this intentional and if not should I retrofit 2 tubes similar to the ones in place beneath the other 2 cup hoders? Thge other 2 rear cup holders drain into the the drainage channels and then out of the boat. Jerry Geisenheimer

Jerry,
A vast majority of this water is coming from around the Ice Chest/Bait Well as it is not sealed with at gasket. I used rubber weather stripping around the ice chest and eliminated a good portion of this water.

I also noticed water collecting in the same area and agree it's coming from the non-gasketed aft cooler and cup holders. To help solve this dilemma, I used the plastic drain tube secured to the bottom of the cooler (which originally drained into the bilge) and attached it to small marelon thru-hull fittings at the base of the aft convenience center. Repeat using smaller diameter tubing for cup holders. Hardware is pretty inexpensive and available at your local boating supply store. All water from the cooler and cup holders now drains on to the self-bailing cockpit. By the way, identical sized tubing is used to drain the cockpit's forward cup holders. Be advised, drilling into fiberglass can be a delicate operation so measure twice (or three times) and cut once.

We're also getting some custom canvas to cover the whole aft convenience center when not in use. Overall, we are very pleased with Chessie's self bailing integrity!

I had the same problem throughout last fall and couldn't figure where the water was coming from that was accumulating under the cockpit sink. Now that we are almost through the winter, I was down at the boat and when I turned on the water pump I noticed a leak from the supply to the sink itself plus the water pump kept switching off and on. When I examined the sink supply one of the connections was loose and was leaking. This was from a connector that appears to be hand tightened only and goes directly to the extension to the faucet. Tightening the connection fixed the leak for the most part, but, unfortunately the faucet itself continues to leak a bit despite the fact both hot and cold knobs are turned off. Anyone else noticed this problem?

I had a problem with fresh water puddles in the cabinet area under the sink on my R25. I traced it to hose connections after I removed the access panel on the back wall of the cabinet. It appeared that the hose clamps were put on but never tightened. The water was dripping on to the lip of the liner and getting into the cabinet.
