Selling our 240 Sea Ray Sundancer and its 300 HP means the end of slalom skiing with our boat. What can we expect with our R25SC? Is there a backing plate on the transom to mount a ski tow eye? Wakeboarding is done at 17 mph. Wakesurfing even less. Does anyone do this with their R25 or R25SC? Is the wake big enough for wakesurfing or does the displacement aspect flatten it out too much? How about tubing? Trick skis?

Interesting post.... Wake surfing is definitely doable..... There is a speed at which the bow wake will sync with the transom wake and make a rather large wave, I'm guessing about 7-8 knots.....one could surf continuously. But a tug doesn't offer the visibility that many pleasure craft that are purpose built for these activities. I would be concerned about circling to pick up a fallen skier and approaching someone in the water.

I am also curious if anyone has experience towing skiers or other watersports. Of course these boats are not designed for such activities but it would be nice to have the option on a hot summer day.

The right tool for the job. Spend any time cruising, and you will develop a desire to be WAY away from wakeboard boats and their occupants.

But there are those days when you are 10 miles out in Lake Michigan cruising from some port to another and it as flat as glass and there are no other boats or wakes to mess up what can be some of the best waterskiing in the world. It is hard not to jump in on those days. Beats having to get up at 5:30 and look for flat water before everyone else gets up and chops up the smaller lakes.
