WattCycle has some special prices on Lifepo4 batteries for Fathers Day. Anybody have any experience with this brand?

I put two EPOCH Essential 300 amp lithium batteries in our R31. They have been giving us good service and you can regularly find a 15% discount sale going on. They are being used extensively in RVs and boats.
I would be suspicious of really low-ball priced lithium batteries.

I went with Lithionics which is probably the most expensive LFP out there. Victron, Epoch, Dakota, Battleborn, are other name brands I'd look at. Not sure I'd be looking for a low-cost budget-friendly LFP form an unknown manufacturer on my boat.

Though expensive, I've had Lithionics for over 3 years and have no house bank battery problems; Zero.

Good discussion…I looked into replacing my house bank with lithium….but leaving the lead acid starting battery in place. From what I’ve read please be aware not all lithium batteries meet the MCA requirements for starting applications…..eg min for F300 Yamaha is in the high 700’s. For starting purposes, MCA (or CCA) is the spec that matters, in addition to AH. The ones that meet the spec are far more pricey.

I realize folks are looking at the now relatively inexpensive lithium house batteries on the market, but if you suddenly need your house bank to start your engine(s) using the battery house/starting combiner selector switch, the BMS in the lithium house bank may trip. Also, there are messy charging separation cycle issues when mixing lead acid with lithium.

I’m just a novice with this stuff…..and decided to stick with the factory set-up….

Another good video on the WattCycle 314AH battery, from a marine perspective.
