Just returned from a wonderful weekend at this event hosted by Marc Grove and his staff.
Held at the very pretty Rivercrest lodge on Scipio Creek. Great bunch of people with interesting stories.
Marc Grove has to be the best marine dealer chef anywhere in the US and the food couldn't be beat for variety, quality, and quantity. Two whole pigs, one smoked, one done in a metal lined box with the coals on the top. BBQ chicken and ribs. Smoked mullet, shrimp, ceviche, seared tuna, oysters ( several ways), wild boar sausage, red cabbage slaw, and more with two nice local beers to wash it down. Oh and for breakfast, try an omelet of oyster ceviche and wild boar chopped meat cooked to perfection by Marc.
Besides the food, lots of boat talk ( many C Dory oriented) . While I drove over from St Augustine, I had a bunch of Tug questions and got good answers on all......except maybe the one about changing the impeller on the Volvo Penta, answered with a funny smile, chuckle, and something about would probably hear lots of X@#$&% words.
Ranger Tug people should check for this event on you calendar for 2015.
