Just added the first marker in Europe to the World of Ranger Tugs map. The R25 SC Claud'in hails from the coastal city of Bastia, on the island of Corsica, France. Bienvenue, Claud'in!

Check out these cruising grounds!

Is your boat on the map? Send me a PM with details and I'll add you.

Cheers,

Bruce

I've been to Corsica. I was very glad that Uncle Sam paid for the trip instead of me!

This must mean that the first Ranger Tug Rendezvous de Mediterranean can't be far behind! 🙂

Uncle Sam paid for my trip to the Med, too, but unfortunately it was in a submarine. Never surfaced until we were nearly back to Scotland. Never saw a thing.

If I ever get back, it will most definitely be on the surface.

Cheers,

Bruce

I made several cruises to the Med compliments of Uncle Sam also, but they were all in the winter time. It was always cold and rainy, and with 4-5 foot swells, it was always fun trying to leap from the liberty boat to the ship (especially if you were 3 sheets to the wind 😛 ). I would love to go to the Med in the summer time.

I was on a Sub that operated out of La Madalena (small island between Corsica and Sardina) back in mid 70s. You could not ask for better boating location. Warm water & mild weather year round. Never saw waves above 3 feet. But cost$$$$$$ of living was too high for most sailors.

Bruce did you get your rock? For those other Sub sailors that have been to the rock pile the Navy moored the Sub Tendor, I still have my personal rock that we were all obligated to bring home. Rumor was if we all did it sooner or later the Navy would have to look for a better place to locate the Tendor. The area was great but the Navy chose a pile of rocks that nobody else wanted. had to catch a boat to go anywhere.

No rock for me Commander. I was on SSBN 658 (Blue) and we operated out of Holy Loch. I joined the Navy and saw Dunoon and Guam. We went in through the Strait of Gibraltar (on alert). All I got was tired of trying to ignore the pinging from all the trawlers looking for us.

Cheers,

Bruce

Hello everybody!
If you want to come for a rendez vous in Corsica, no problem... just a long travel around the ocean!
If you come in Corsica, you will be my guest...it is a tradition here.
I will build some albums with photos of Claud'in, my tug and about my beautiful island..more are coming!
See that!

My R25SC was coming in Corsica by sea , on the Georgia highway..a big boat who carry cars around the world.
I have get my tug in Livorno, on the Italy coast..and after by myself for a cruise during 6 hours (see photos with dolphins)

I know the presence of the sub sailors in Sardegna because i have a house on the top of the cliff of Bonifacio, just in front of La Madalena...( you will see photos of Bonifacio and Lavezzi island)

Best regards

Claude of "Claud'in"

Wow Claude, what a beautiful place you live. Your new tug looks right at home there. Keep posting pictures of your adventures. Thanks

Your boat looks fine in those beautiful waters. Thanks for posting.

Cheers,

Bruce

Welcome to the Ranger Tug family, thanks for posting and happy cruising.

Glad you made it to the owners group site Claude! I think its about time that we "find" a few major items that would require my attendance in Corsica. Hope your enjoying your boat! 😀
