What are inside dimensions of drawer in 29S V-berth?

Greetings,
We are away from our boat, a 29S, but am hoping somebody can help us out with space-planning decisions for the interior.

We would love to know the inside dimensions of the drawer inside the V-berth. And, how do most people with an R-29 use that drawer?

Are you sure about the depth of that drawer? It seems much deeper than that.
This is the only drawer in the V-berth of a 2017 R-29S.

Ours is also a 2017 29S. You could consider the drawer deeper if you count all the usable space inside. I measured the inside depth of the drawer itself. We have added a thin layer of veneer plywood cut to size above the drawer unit. I think the depth above this “shelf” is at least 2”, maybe 3. We use it for chart books and anything large and flat. I just happened to be stumbling around in the general vicinity of the v-berth with a tape measure in my hand when I saw your question, but I’m not at the boat anymore. Hopefully someone else will chime in as a check.

Thanks! That makes sense and is super helpful. I expect I I had stuff piled up higher than the sides of the drawer so the 8" didn't seem high enough in my memory. The shelf for flat things is an interesting idea!
