What is this C30 screen for?

I found an approx 2.5' square mesh screen among things that have been set aside since our C30S was new. I can't recall or figure out what it is supposed to cover. Any ideas?

Looks like the screen to cover the sliding windows at the helm or the seat across from it. The little hole goes over the knob.
