I am trying to reinstall the batteries in my Cutwater 24. I took pictures when I winterized and don’t recollect seeing a white cable which I have now discovered stuffed way back in the compartment. It’s white and flat like an old telephone cable with a round batttery connector at the end. Either it wasn’t connected or somehow I overlooked it when disconnecting the batteries. It disappears behind the white panel to which the charger and relays are mounted.

Anyone know what it is and where it should be commected?

Thanks
Sean

This is a Remote Temperature Sensor Probe. The ring terminal end should be connected to the negative terminal of a house battery. The other end should be connected to the battery charger while the charger is powered down. (look for the telephone like port on the "connection" end of the charger.) The purpose is to enable the battery charger to modify output voltage based on the battery temperature.

Thanks Osprey, that’s exactly what it is. And there was me thinking it was something to do with the CO2 sensor which started alarming a while after I installed the batteries. Engines were not running. Could that be just stale air in the cabin on a hot day or is it also related to how I wired up the batteries?

Thanks
Sean
