This photo was take from the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry this afternoon. We had just left the Bremerton ferry landing heading for Seattle. The tug shown looked as if it were going into Bremerton. Fess up and I will send you a couple of high resolution photos of your Tug.

Next you may want to ask what is a nice Texas boy doing way up here in the Pacific North West.

If I were to guess give the location that the photo was taken, I would say that is the brand new R-29 Wolf Pack. She is moored in Port Orchard on the same pier as Karma. When I departed on Friday, she was in port but on our return yesterday afternoon, she was out on the sound somewhere.

Guilty as charged. Yes, this was Wolf Pack returning from our overnighter in Carr Inlet right near Cutt's Island. We are still putting Wolf Pack through her paces so as to find all the issues for Andrew to address sooner than later, which is one reason we decided to anchor somewhere Sat night. When we got back to Port Orchard Karma was buttoned up tighter than a drum, no sign of its skipper or first mate anywhere. Been chatting with them for months and now am anchored on the same dock and still haven't met them in person. <smile>

Can't wait to see herb's pictures.

Yeah, by the time you returned Sunday afternoon, the skipper and her first mate were headed for the airport. It was off to Anchorage and Fairbanks for me and Phoenix for Maureen. I return to Seattle very early Friday morning. I will be taking Karma over to Des Moines again for Friday night where Maureen will join me. Saturday we will depart Des Moines around 10:30 bound for not quite sure where.... maybe Blake again, possibly Gig, or maybe Blakely Harbor.

I do have some errands to run Friday morning so I will not be around until 1:00 pm or so. Planning to head to Des Moines around 2:00 pm.

If you are around, please feel free to join us. (obviously, anyone else that would like to join us is also welcome) We will have the Spot Messenger up and running making it easy to locate us.....

Yep, got the pictures. Small world. We buy this new "lifestyle" to get away from the rat race of I-5 and the sirens of civilization, and then get spied from a ferry. <smile> We do appreciate the photos, and actually got a kick out of it, because when the ferry was going by Pam and I both waved to the ferry to see if anyone would wave back. Couldn't quite see clear enough to know if anyone on the ferry waved back, but your pictures tell us that someone was definitely watching.

Our paths could cross Friday, not sure yet. We brought Wolf Pack back to Des Moines last night. Have some minor items found on our orientation cruises to get corrected and this location works best for Andrew's team. But as far as the weekend goes, we have company coming in the next week or two, so will be kinda hectic. They all want rides, so we will try to accommodate that.

David, If you end up venturing into Carr Inlet, which is just past Gig Harbor and the Narrows Bridge, then I would recommend getting a bouy at Penrose Point State Park, if you get there early enough. They were full when we got there last weekend so we ended up dropping anchor near the shore just between Kopachuck State Park and the face of Cutts Island. Our anchor was fine all night while the tides were either normal or high, but when the tide got near minus the next morning the current drifted us and pulled our anchor right along with us. We happened to be up and watching at the time, so it didn't turn into a disaster for us, but the bottom there was very sandy. Also, there was LOTS and LOTS of inconsiderate boat traffic late into the night there as well. We will look for more secluded areas in the future. Just FYI, of course.
