I'm going to install a Vesper AIS in my C30, 2018.
My boat has two pucks on the mast.
A XM satellite puck for xm weather, garmin GXM 54 XM antenna.
The Garmin AIS 600 comes with a dedicated GA 38 gps antenna.

After reading the manual on the AIS 600, IT DOES NOT SHARE it's GPS signal. By law it must have a dedicated gps source, but the manual says quote, " The AIS 600 does not share GPS information with any other devices on your boat."

Where does the twin chart plotters get GPS from? Internally inside the unit, inside the dash, inside the solon? Seems like you'd want an external antennas.

The vesper says it must have its own antenna also, but specifically says it will share the data by NEMA.

The short answer is yes, the GPS antenna is internal to each of the MFD displays. My boat has no GPS antenna visible. It was about the 1st question Tim at delivery.

The Garmin AIS800 has an internal antenna as well, but I added one "under dash" since the box is buried so deep in the boat. I am not sure abut the Vespar unit.

I hope that helps.
