We purchased a 2009 R25 from Wefings last May and then trailered it home to Montana for the summer. The original plan was to take it back to Apalachicola in October and use it there, but after making the 2,400 mile trip I am not so sure I want to do this very often. We already have another boat in Apalach that we can use while we are there so that is not an issue.
I am thinking that it might be fun to move the boat to the Seattle area for the winter and use it to do some exploring in the Northwest and then bring it back to Yellowstone Lake for the summer.
Do any of you in the Northwest use your Tugs in the winter or is this a really stupid idea? I know the weather will be cool to cold and of course rainy but after growing up sailing on the northern great lakes I am somewhat accustomed to marginal weather. I would really appreciate any advice that anyone can give us regarding this idea. Thanks, Jim

Winter boating is one of the reasons I bought a my R25SC.
I have had other boats where you have to be outside to drive.
It sure is nice being inside where it is warm to navigate.
All the attractions are still there and open for business.
There is always moorage available at your favorite restaurant.
The daylight is shorter during December and January.
Fog is probably the biggest weather issue with the the occasional wind or snow storm.
