We are debating which boat show to go to in order to check out the 29 (and maybe the 25SC if they have it). We are about 3 hours from the Bay Bridge Boat Show in Kent Island, MD and about the same distance from the Essex Boat Show in CT and they both happen this weekend. The show in MD is bigger but the weather in CT is supposed to be better. Both have Rangers in the water and both places will give us a test drive.

So what does everyone think? Which way should we go...North or South?

Go for the bigger show w/ the worse wx. It will be less crowded and you will have a better test of the boat. Go South.

If I were looking at a new Tug, I would be seriously thumping on the factory to build me a 27... In my puny little mind, simply inserting 2 foot between the back wall of the cabin and the front of the engine would cost only a bit of additional fiberglass and resin and labor and should require only a minimal price increase... The factory may see it differently - they have to recover the cost of a new mold, can't have the price too close to the 25SC and steal sales, etc...

The new 27 Ranger will be out in May at the Anacortes Boat Show. Ask them for the details. It is the perfect compromise. That is why we have one on order.

Found out there is actually going to be what they call a 'boutique' boat show in Cape May, NJ next weekend with a 29 in the water. Now we are leaning that way since it is a really nice town to visit and only 2 hours away from where we live. Hopefully the weather next weekend will be better too.

I do like your idea though Sam, hadn't thought about it that way.
