Which Magma (or other grill ) & Hardware?

My wife and I recently purchased and R-23. We are obviously thrilled with the potential of the ranger tug. We want to mount a magma grill (9"X18" grill surface) and were thinking of mounting it on the transom rails. Have any of you done this? Which grill did you purchase and why? Also which is the best mounting hardware. How about the rod holder? Does that work for mounting? It might be too close to the cockpit for me. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very helpful.
 
There are a few different brands of grills on the market, preferences have been discussed before. I have a Magma Catalina grill and use the Magma rail mounts on our 25SC. It has worked great for us.
 
We also have the Magma Catalina with Magma rail mounts. Works great!

We have a Kuuma grill with a quick release rail mount. It works great.
 
Magma Cabo grill on a R29. Perfect.
 
We also have a Magma Catalina grill, with a rod-holder mount, placed in the port holder adjacent to the propane locker. We keep the grill in the center locker when underway.

Hopefully you will hear from other R23 owners for how they have resolved their grill placement.

We are a destination boat (as are you), cruising at 25-30 mph. Because of this, we choose to stow the grill rather than subject it to the wind on the gunnel.

I put a MAGA, that size on my R23
I leave it on the swim step rail on the starboard side. Good fit, good weight balance. It hangs over the water so less mess on the deck or swim step

Any concerns with having the grill near the ourboard? We are new to all this (just got our R23 like a month ago) so trying to be safe.

I have a Kuuma grill with a quick release rail mount on the outermost swim step rail as well. It rides there all year with no problems. NOTE: The valve will fall out (ask me how I know) We remove it and keep it in the galley drawer, attach as needed. The valve rotates 180 degrees to remove, or attach.
 
I use a Magma Grill with the rod holder mount on the port side of the propane locker. Works well. I also use my Kenyon electric grill when I am at port to supplement the Magma for cooking vegetables and other items. This combination works really well for the ultimate grilling station on a boat!
 
I have an R-23 and an older Magma 18" kettle grill mounted on the port side swim step rail. Mounted with a Magma quick connect but I leave it on most of the time. It works great, away from the boat over the water and access by walking out on the swim step.
 
My wife and I recently purchased a 2010 R25 SC and didn't want a bulky BBQ, so we got the small Kettle BBQ from Magma, the 1" rail strait mount, the 7-piece nesting cook set and the padded/carrying case for the kettle BBQ and accessories. There's only two of us and it works like a champ. I mount/dismount every time I use it, so that nothing sticks out from the boat when underway.

We are completing an 8-days cruise in the Gulf Islands and have cooked pretty much everyday on it and I would not changed it to a rectangular BBQ. Super compact and stores easily in the Cave. Plus the kettle BBQ can be used as a "stove" pots and pans can go in it and you can cook like you would inside, a big plus.
