I'm in WA Edmonds Marina slip D-31. Across the way on Dock E I see a new green hull R27 but cannot see its name. My marina gate key only allows me onto Docks C & D. Who is this I ask as we are obviously kindred spirits. 😉

Jeff Messmer also tells me there's a new R29 arriving soon at Edmonds marina... will not be long before we have a flotilla of Ranger Tugs in Edmonds. 😀

It is our Ranger 27 "Purfec" in E 18 slip. Now has crab pots and fishing poles on top. Crab pots work fine but something is wrong with the fishing poles.

Welcome to Edmonds Marina. 🙂 ...and thanks for responding so quickly. I notice you also have a cargo box on the cabin's top rails.... at least that is what I think I see from my D-31 slip.

Sure would like to come on over and take a gander at your new R27. 1st mate and I were discussing an upgrade from our R25 to the R27 last year because of all the extras Ranger Tugs has made. No matter, we love our R25 and plan to stay with it and use the extra brass to pay for fuel, moorage and goodies for years to come. 😉 The R27 is an awesome investment and I know you will enjoy it.

Maybe I can talk to you about the crab pots and fishing as I have a feeling that will be something I'm likely to be doing in near future as my grandchildren are growing up fast, I'm retiring in 26 days time and that kind of activity is sure to attract them no end.

BTW -- Susan Wade (and I'm sure you've met her) in the Marina Operations office is both friendly and a stickler for obtaining boat docs and boat Ins. coverage from you. Keep her happy is my advice. 😉

I was on the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry on the 11:50 am run. As we were pulling into Edmonds there was a red-hulled R-29 to the starboard side of the ferry. Who might that be. It was beautiful in the bright sun.\

I understand there IS an R29 moored at Edmonds Marina and in a slip to north of me (in S or T dock) -- maybe it was this red hulled one. As my marina gate key does not allow me to wander beyond docks C & D I cannot check this out. 🙁

Barry you are about to be an even luckier man in 29 days. I will be happy to show you the Yakima set up and share what I know about crabbing. It has been productive in the first couple of weeks to the point where we are freezing crab.

i do know Susan quite well, we started with a boat in dry storage. She is a hoot and does stay on top of all the marina regs. In the end it makes for a well run marina. You at least know everybody is playing by the same rules.

Let me know when you will be at the marina and I will arrange a meeting.

Well, we are off this Thursday to meet up with other Tugnuts for the Desolation Sound Cruise that starts off from Roche harbor Aug 1st. We plan to first stop over at La Conner for the night then onto Roche during Friday.

I will hook up with you after we get back.

Hmmm, that reminds, I must chat with Susan and tell her we will be away from our slip for some 9 days so she can loan my slip out if there are any takers... 😀
