Does anyone use a range extender to get better WiFi service at Marina's. If so, can you suggest a good model?

I installed a redhalo. It has been fantastic

I use a Netgear range extender https://www.google.com/shopping/product ... rmr:1,cs:1 works really good in our boat and RV. I am sure an external antenna marine WiFi booster is better but this has been good enough for me in any marina or RV park.. you can get one from BestBuy and try it.. if not enough just return it .

mounted above cabin and wired into 12v power. Creates an internal network on boat, with increased signal. Unrestricted data plans for Cellular providers limit the need several years on (tether your mobile-phone via Bluetooth or USB adapter if you have no restrictions on data. At marinas, the issue isnt signal, it is the number of times that signal is split. Antennas and optimizers will get you the best signal from what is available, but it cannot make the signal stronger than the split. Its math. Your mobile phone via tether is often a stronger signal. You can also look at Mobile Phone antennas.

I just started using festifi. It had been used at concert and game events across the country. It can support up to fifty users and has been used by vendors for point of sale. It has been very reliable. There are options to purchase or rent. Has worked well while underway and while docked or at anchor. If you want more info you can PM me.

looks like a rebranded ubiquiti bullet https://www.ui.com/airmax/bulletm/

I would go with Ubiquiti! I have used there other WiFi and networking gear. Good stuff at a good price.

Ubiquiti's newer line of bullet products only support connecting between one bullet and another, or between other Unifi AirOS products, which prevents them from being useful for a WiFi booster. The only I know of that is dual band and has decent performance is the MikroTik Groove, which I've written about a bunch on my site.

It's a shame, because the original Ubiquti Bullet and the various versions (M, Titanium, etc.) were great for 2.4Ghz and easily customizable, which is what Rogue Wave and others had done in the past. The newer versions appear not to support that anymore....

Has anyone her of a nano loco??
A guy who lives at our marina uses that with a router.

I think he might be talking about this or something similar: https://www.ui.com/airmax/nanostation-ac/

I believe you still have to have a matching one at the other end, or something that runs Ubiquiti's AirOS, but maybe they have changed that?

My harbor's wifi is much slower than my Personal Hotspot from AT&T mobile service, both download and upload speeds, and also works until I'm about 10 miles offshore. It's not true 5G, but, when 5G is here the speeds will be dramatically faster.
