Windlass repair

My R 25 SC has a Lewmar H 1000 windlass which slips badly when raising the anchor. I suspect there is a clutch which probably has wear surfaces that require periodic replacement. Any advice would be appreciated as I have no experience in this area.

You should have a tool with a raised square boss that you can use to tighten up the clutch. If that doesn’t work you may need to rebuild the clutch.

There is a clutch which can be tightened using a ratchet or the tool that is supplied with the windlass.
