Ranger Tug 27.Having problems with my windless.Up function failed.Would go down but not up.Dealer fixed problem but when retrieveing anchor it stalls and requires hand help to continue.I make sure to clear chain from locker as it comes in.Hand tighten "clutch"As far as I could.I move boat forward as I,m retrieveing so very little strain on rode.Any ideas?

You can use a 1/2 drive ratchet to tighten the clutch a bit. Just enough to stop the slipping. And making sure the chain and rode are moved around while retrieving will help prevent slipping.

Also, make sure all electrical connections are tight, batteries are in good condition etc. If the windlass is not getting full power, it will be too weak to pull the anchor up. If you are able to parallel your batteries when using the windlass that may help as well.
