Wine cooler

Our R31 has a wine cooler and a solar panel. The solar panel keeps the refrigerator running at all times regardless of whether the generator is running. Does the wine cooler require the generator to run in order to cool the wine or does it also take support from the solar panel?

If the generator is required, does the wine cooler maintain temperature for several hours, or is it necessary to run the generator while underway when cruising?

We plan to replace the stern deck table with a 65 qt portable refrigerator freezer to make up for the limited refrigeration space when we are on a multi week cruise. Anyone else tried to make this work?

The wine cooler is 12v DC also. The solar panel will keep it up and running along with the refrigerator. I personally would start the engine every few days if you are out on the hook to keep[ your batteries up to full charge
