We were in a big sea near Nanaimo recently and the boat was rolling a fair bit. The wine fridge door flew open and all our bottles came flying out, breaking a bottle and leaving red wine and broken glass on the carpet. What a mess.
My question is has anyone had this experience before and secondly is there a way to secure the wine fridge door in a similar way to securing the other fridges?
Good news was that at the next tie up we hosed off the carpet and scrubbed with soap and it all came out totally with no residual stain. 🙂

Same thing has happened to us. I installed two small metal loops, one on each side of the door midway and use a small bungy cord across the door. No issues since.

Wouldn't have happened if the wine were stored properly inside one or more persons 🙂

I do not allow glass on my boat. To many bare feet. Now I would bet a nice Box of wine would have been fine 😀

Thank you Scotfree. I will try your loop and small bungy cord.
As for box wine, the wine cooler in the R31 has racks for bottles and besides life's too short to drink cheap wine.
