Winterize R23 AC Unit by back-pumping antifreeze

Once boat is hauled out of water for winter, I was thinking about Winterizing the Air Conditioner unit in my 2019 R23 by using a drill pump to forcing antifreeze through the AC outlet fitting until the antifreeze comes out the open inlet sea cock. Apparently this method of wintering the AC has been used in my someone in my boat yard and I would appreciate any comments positive/negative on this method of winterizing the AC unit.
 
I don't know if your R23 is plumbed and pumped the same as my 2012 R27 but I simply put a funnel into the AC output thru-hull and pour antifreeze in until it comes out the intake thru-hull. My pump is a centrifugal one so fluid will pass by it without the need for any force other than gravity. HTH, Gary
 
I have used an antifreeze pump with a short hose that fits snug into the hull outlet. Open the seacock and then pump until it exits. Pretty easy.
 
Thanks for confirming/describing back pumping method for winterizing AC.....Actually I am going to pick up a 750gph drill pump from Lowes..(similar to out-of-stock Harbor Freight)... I plan on attaching it to board and running with my portable drill.
 
You don't need all that pumping apparatus.
Gravity works just fine.

A foot or two of hose and a funnel hanging on a string from the railing is enough static head to push the antifreeze through the system.
