OK. Just ran the pink RV antifreeze in the raw water system.

I am wondering what if I were on a multiple day trip and were facing freezing weather? My "normal" multi-day trip is on the Arkansas River for 4 or 5 nights. Usually I anchor every night. During cold weather travel, at best I could have a small portable propane heater in the cabin but the engine is out in the cold. I would only run the heater while awake. Would I need to run RV antifreeze through the raw water system each evening? What do "commercial" boats do?

If you are staying on the boat, and the boat is in the water, and the water doesn't freeze, the boat will not freeze. I use a small propane camping heater from Academy. I think the brand is "Heater Buddy". Not recommended if kids are present because kids can't be trained to keep flamables away from the heater.

Be very careful about using propane heaters in the cabin....you will need to make sure that there is enough ventilation (years ago, my Dad and his hunting buddies almost died from using a propane heater in a tent).
