It's that sad time of year!

Out of curiosity, how many gallons of antifreeze do you guys run through your D4? The factory guide on winterizing an R29 (which I assume is essentially the same as my C28) says 2 gallons. I tend to go overkill and did 6 gallons of -60F. I've heard other people say 4-5. Just curious to see what others use, or anything else you might do to your D4 other than flush with antifreeze.

I was in the 4 to5 gallon range.

I am winterizing my engine hopeful tomorrow or Friday and plan to use 4-5 gallons of -60f as well. Will report back.

I did the freshwater system the other day and started the raw water pump and head (which im sure you saw my other post lost its prime) and shower sump

Need to finish engine, AC, Gen, Waste tank

If you really want to minimize the antifreeze used to winterize for environmental or expense reasons, get a head start by minimizing the salt water in the engine. The process of replacing the engine zincs drains some salt water out. Draining the muffler via a small plug near its base also removes much salt water. Lastly lightly crimp the hose to the cutlass bearing which will prevent much of the antifreeze from being dumped on the ground via the bearing.

in a c-28 how do you guys winterize the fwd bilge? it doesn't seem like i can just pour anitfreeze without it going all over the place there?

What are you trying the winterize - the bilge pump? Not sure it would need anything if it has never ran and pumped water. I’ve never had to do anything with mine.
