wiper motor on R21 2009 How To remove

I have an R21 2009 The wiper motor has stopped working on the port side .I would like to remove it to service it .I am looking for help /info on how to do this .

The motor is secured in place by one nut on the outside by the wiper arm. It might also be glued on one side from the inside where you can visually see the grey motor box. Once you remove the arm assembly and nut from the outside, it will be a matter of pulling loose from the inside.

I don't know if it's the same as on my 2010 R25 but I had to replace the wiper motor on one of my wipers and shot a brief video of the process. Maybe this will help.

The video posted by Jeff of GetAweigh is good.

When I had to do this on a previous boat, the wiper arm had TWO locking screws which required loosening with an Allen-type wrench. Removing the wiper arm is the hardest part of the job. Ensure there is not a third screw hiding around the periphery of the mounting hole. Drilling out the hole in the wiper arm so that the 'puller' tool can engage the motor shaft is a key step as well.

When you reassemble it, grease the motor shaft to prevent or reduce corrosion occurring between the motor shaft and wiper arm. The corrosion makes removing the wiper arm in the future MUCH more difficult.

Hi guys: Good advice, as I am in the process of disassembling one of my wipers as well. Notably, the Allen screws on the outside of the wiper arm may be quite difficult to loosen due to alloy corrosion/electrolysis and salt build-up. I have already tried and found that I may have to drill them out, as the Allen key stripped the key slot. I recommend lots of Inox or WD40 to start with, before trying to turn with the Allen key.
