On our R25OB, less then 3 years old, the port side windshield wiper does not operate, starboard side does. Spade fuse is fine. When I turn the dash toggle switch to the on position I hear a click noise on the wiper motor but the wiper blade does move operate. The wiper is resting on the windshield so it is not being hindered from movement. Anyone else experience this situation? Suggestions to try and tackle the problem?

Jim, From the Ranger Tug pictures it looks like those wiper motors are the same as the ones that were on your prior R27 and our prior R25SC. If the motor is not continuing to run and the wiper arm is just not slipping on the motor shaft, I would say you have a bad motor. They are not very expensive and are pretty easy to replace. I replaced one of them on my R25SC because it was slowing and l could tell it was going to die shortly. A quick fix. Interesting the other two motors on our R25SC worked just fine the entire time.

One of the things pointed out to me by the broker I purchased my boat from was to not run the wiper motors continously as they overheat quickly and will burnout. He suggested using them intermittently and using RainX on the windshield occasionally. The RainX worked very well and even in a downpour I still only need to run them for short periods of time.
I just thought I'd pass this on.
I also saw the same suggestion, regarding intermittent use of the wipers, in some earlier posts. The earlier post also had a link to, if I remember correctly, which isn't always the case, is that they were available on Amazon. You maybe able to find the post using the search box.
Please don't quote me on this as the brain works but only part-time since I retired.
Hope this helps.

In case I need to replace I took the interior wood cover off to inspect the motor for a make and part number. What I found was “AFI” which is Marinco. There was a sticker on the pump housing”NO. 126927” but I’m guessing this is not the part number. Does anyone have the part number? This is on a 2022 R25OB.

I found this on a search of the Tugnuts site. It was regarding wipers blades but had this info, not sure if it's correct but you can call Fluid Motions, post on the Factory thread or call Marinco. It seems the blades were discontinued but nothing regarding the motor.
Hope this helps,
Terry

Re: Source for R27 windshield wipers
The old spec I have for R25 OB wipers is the following
Wiper Motor 36111
Wiper Blade 14" 31114B
Wiper Arm 10-14" 33107A

It looks like discontinued, but Marinco has other 14 inch blades that probably are compatible

Hope that helps

Update and thanks. I called Marinco and reviewed the wiper not working problem. After I reviewed that I checked the fuse and wiring to find all in good shape I explained that when I switched the toggle to the on position all I heard was a click at the motor. The Marinco tech said the motor was faulty, to go to there online warranty request to fill it out and request a new wiper motor and that it was under warranty. We’ve had the boat for 2 1/2 years so I’m guessing the warranty is for 3 years…..just in case others run into this problem. Thanks to everyone who gave advice.

I’m preparing to replace the wiper motor and looking for tips on taking the wiper arm
assembly off of the wiper motor shaft. I’ve gotten the set screw out and the assembly is not budging from the motor shaft. My next step is to spray PB Blaster penetration spray on the spindle/shaft and let sit for a while to see if this helps loosen things up enough to take off. Any other tips that might be helpful?
