Now that we're done with Thanksgiving, I'm moving this notice from the "Thanksgiving wishes" thread.

I've started to assemble some Tugsmas card art for 2011 (first one is in my album). To save time this year, I'm going to use the same background on all ...but... If anyone has a photo of their boat and they want a personal version I am going to try to accomodate as many as I can...just "PM" me ----------->
and I'll send you my e-mail.
Photos should show your boat uncluttered, and at approx the same angle as the sample in my album (port or starboard doesn't matter) even a good shot while on the trailer may work. I'll try to stick to the first in first out principle as best I can.
I'll try to do as many as possible..but reserve the right to end this if I run out of time, energy or sanity.

Very nice! I admired what you made last year, as well. Having spent a lifetime in the imaging business, I appreciate true artistry. Kudos!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Alex,
We absolutely love our boat picture! Nita is going to to have it framed. We cannot thank you enough.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
Bob

Hi Bob,

You're very welcome, Merry Tugmas

We just got our card and it is wonderful. Looks a bit like a fine painting. And it's OUR boat. Thanks so much.

Allan and Yvonne

@All - We just received our card and I can attest to the high degree of difficulty this type of work presents where blending a picture in to another with finite precision is the end game.

@Alex - you are a great person with a huge heart to create these types of presentations which make us all so happy inside. We will be getting our picture framed for the Christmas holiday.

Thank you so much,

Carl & Mary E.

Add us to the list of Tugnuts enjoying the work of Slackwaterjack! Wonderful job of creating the card of "Genny"! I couldn't wait to surprise Dave on his birthday! Now he knows!
Genny

Alex,

The Salish Rover never looked better !!!! I ordered 200 Xmas cards and a 16" by 20" canvas print today from Costco, delivery on Friday.

The painting is on SlackwaterJack's photo page, 2011 Xmas Cards---for all to see. Beautiful--

Thanks for your hard work and attention to detail.

Best Regards

Hi Tugnuts,

Christmas Portrait offer will need to end sometime... and Wed. Dec 14th (midnight) is it. Anything rec'd after that will need to wait for next year (I don't want to fall behind quota for cookies and 'nog consumption).

A couple of you have contacted me but haven't sent in your photos yet, clock's tick'n.

PS...I'd like to get an R-27 in this year's album.

Oh my goodness! I sheepishly asked Alex (Slackwater Jack) if he had time to work a C-Dory into his schedule. He was gracious enough to offer me a choice of backgrounds and tips on perspective for the best shot/angle. I was surprised when I went through hundreds of images we've taken in our cruising, only to find that we really didn't have a great shot of just the boat (uncluttered). Oh, plenty of shots with us ON the boat, the boat at a dock (with the dock obscuring parts of the boat), the boat decorated for the Lighted Boat Parade, etc, etc... but this image from Alex is going to have a prominent place on our wall at home (not to mention Christmas cards).

Thank you, Alex, for the beautiful image!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

I was in the professional imaging business for 32 years (Master of Photography, Photograpic Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America, internationally affiliated photographic juror). Before retiring, besides the studio, we sold photo-art in several galleries on the Gulf Coast. I am no stranger to nice images; perhaps somewhat jaded, it takes a lot to invoke my "Wow" response... this image is beautifully done (and, yes, I do have a bias for that lovely subject). It takes my breath away. Kudos to Slackwater Jack!

Slackwater, many thanks for the wonderful artwork featuring Willie's Tug in winter wonderland. We will treasure it as we use it to wish our friends and family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2011. You picked a great back ground and added nice touches for the photo taken by Nita of Nellie too. It makes us homesick for the San Juan's. We cannot wait to return.

Thanks

And lots of other fun stuff...

Boat cards in two different sizes, Christmas cards, a calendar, and some smaller prints. Thanks again, Slackwater Jack!

Happy Holidays,
Jim B

Reminder
If you'd like to have your boat photo processed (free) as a portrait suitable for Christmas cards, coffee mugs, etc.... or to frame and hang on your wall (like the neat stuff in "Wild Blue's" comment posted above)....there's less than 36 hours to get them submitted before the dead-line (tomorrow at mid-might).
just send me a "PM" .

We used Snapfish.com to print our Christmas cards using the picture created by Slackwater Jack! They came out really nice!

You do not have to have any fancy software to print out Christmas cards. A word processor such as Microsoft Word can be used. Just get some blank cards at Staples, then setup your word processor for the full opened page size of the card. For the outside of the card, paste the photo to the bottom half of the page. On the next page, type in your greeting and message, select the style of font (I like Monotype Corsiva), then select a color, such as red or green. Then print out a number of the outside cards, then turn them over and put them back in the printer and print the inside of the card. There you have it - instant custom Christmas cards.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to our motley crew of assorted Tugnuts.

The Christmas portrait offer has expired for this year ... (But, that just means, if asked I'll probably do one for any Tugnut at another time of the year as time permits)

Here's this years participants........

It's been fun

Alex,
I can't believe you did this for all of us!! God bless and Merry Christmas.

Bob and Nita

Count us in as one of the lucky ones - we appreciate the skill and fine work that you shared, Alex. Again, our thanks!

Happy Holidays,
Jim B.
