Yamaha engine gateway

Is my 2022 Ranger Tug RT 25 outboard boat equipped with a Yamaha engine gateway? I’m planning to install a Lenco Autoglide automatic trim tab unit and I’m not sure if the boat already has the gateway installed.

The easiest way to tell would be to look at the back of your chartplotter. Is there anything plugged into the J1939 connector? If so, trace that cable. I bet it goes to the Yamaha bus. This would indicate that you do NOT have the Yamaha gateway.

Another way would be to look at your Nema2k bus. Is there a connection labeled "Yamaha"? If so, this would indicate that you do have the Yamaha gateway installed.

Hi Martin,
Thx for the quick response. I checked as you suggested. There is nothing plugged into the J1939 port. There IS a connection on the NEMA 2000 bus labeled “Gateway”, rather than “Yamaha”. So, I’m going to assume that there is, in fact, a gateway somewhere in there.
I’m no electronics wizard so I appreciate your assistance with this question.

If you can see the data that Garmin refers to on this page, https://www.garmin.com/en-US/marine/engine-integration/yamaha/ it would appear you're all set.

I just installed the Auto Glide on my boat this month and I believe it's a great investment/upgrade.
