To mirror baz’s Post on the R27 OB, here is the official Yamaha report on the R23/F200. I have apparently been under performing at 4500rpm/24mph vs the sweet spot at 5000rpm/30mph. Just have to cruise faster. Racine forecast today is 25 degrees and an inch of snow. Reefpoint Marina reopens April 1. We are under 5 months. Celebration FL forecast is 82 degrees and sun. St Johns River for next winter.

The test did not specify if it was in saltwater or fresh and if there were any currents

Hmm, I'll have to check this out, but I have to admit that 30MPH is a bit too fast for my tastes. I have been there a couple of times and don't remember the MPG being higher than at 22/23 MPH, but we will see.

The difference in MPG between 4500/22 mph and 5000/30.4 mph is at best 0.3.

For the R-27/OB the Yamaha Perf graph shows for the F300

1) 4500/30.7 mph with 2.01 MPG
2) 2000/8.6 mph with 2.77 MPG

Personally, for best ride comfort with no more than a 1-foot chop I like the 4500/30.7 mph. The boat gets up onto full plane at around 18 mph.

Thanks for posting this! I generally cruise around the 22-25 mph range in my R23, getting up around 30 when the Bay is pretty calm. So, I guess I'm doing the best I can on gas mileage.
