Hi all,
Anyone using a support from the trailer to the lower unit when transporting to reduce bouncing loads on the transom ?
After searching the forum I can find plenty of information on supporting the hydraulic tilt mechanism but not much on this subject. Perhaps I’m overthinking this and it’s not required. It just seems like that 800 lb. engine is on a long lever.
Any recommendations or photos would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris

Hey Chris. When we trailer our R-23 we ALWAYS use the Yamaha trailering support. To me it just makes sense to cushion the transom from road shock as much as possible.
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.
Are these the “sticks” which take the load off the hydraulic tilt cylinders or do they attach between the trailer and lower unit ?

The support is 8 3/4 inches long with a 2 inch diameter. It’s made from a solid rubber type material with a hole in the middle. It fits over the PORT lift ram. Once you lower the unit the “stick” compresses slightly to absorb shock. Super easy to install.
Cheers

Thanks Karl !
