This may not be an issue for Northwest area R-29's but it has played heck with our boating here on the Gulf Coast this summer. Apparently Yanmar has a misprint on the dealer parts list CD. The error is in reference to the 2 Micron engine fine fuel filter. Earlier 6BY's have the primary fuel filter/water separator mounted on the bulkhead with an engine mounted fine filter that is gray in color and a filter head with two "Banjo" bolts with soft copper washers connecting to the booster pump and the engine pump. The current dealers service manual does not show the head and filter that the 6BY Sport models have installed. So, for over six weeks we have been receiving the wrong filter element and head and had to send them pictures of our existing units. They still sent us the wrong parts. The problem was rectified this week but meanwhile Ladybug, Too sat at the dock going nowhere because the secondary filter head was corroded across the gasket seating area. In addition, we were sent a 2 micron element to replace the primary filter when it should have been a 10 micron element. This has been another frustrating year after the issues with the lightning strike. We'll post pictures on our gallery.
