Yesterday my Yanmar i5600 multi-function display showed an engine problem.
In the past, I believe the displays left hand hot key had been displaying three gauges: tach, oil pressure and water (coolant) temperature.
Yesterday the coolant temperature gauge was replaced with a gauge showing oil temperature. And the oil temperature value was displayed as "_ _ _" or no value as if a sensor had failed.
Either I am having a very senior moment and mis-remember this gauges title/function or it changed function on its own magically.
I went through the set-up menu and changed(?) the third gauge to displaying coolant temperature and it is reading the correct current ambient temperature of the coolant with the engine off of 67 degrees.
Does anyone else have this i5600 display with the left hot key set to display tach, oil pressure and a third engine temperature measurement? Have the gauges selected ever changed on their own? Is there an output on the Yanmar ECU for oil temperature? I cannot find a reference such a sensor in the Yanmar service manual. But page 12-15 does show a sensor an ECU output for engine coolant temperature.
I know I sound confused tonight because frankly I don't understand what happened....

I just checked mine and have the tach, oil pressure and coolant temp. I do not think we have a sensor for oil temperature hence the reason for the blank. You can do different configurations. However, when I looked through the manual there was no mention of oil temperature.

Same here no oil temp sensor ... you can configure what you see on the screen. Mine sometimes goes to just tach .. Gremlins 🙂

Thanks for the confirmation of no oil temp sensor on the Yanmar. I have the display reset to show coolant temp again. Still have no idea what triggered the display to magically change from showing coolant temp to trying to show oil temp...

I suspect it's a power off reset thing . Maybe some how there was low power briefly .. Just a guess

Recently purchased a 2011, Ranger 29 and finding out I have a lot to learn. Currently the engine info displayed on the i5600 is not what I would like and although I got a lot of manuals with the boat, nothing on the i5600. Is there a set up pub and does anyone know where I could get it?

I have one send me your e-mail and I will send it to you. Also, you can get a lot of the same information on the Garmin.
