We have a 2000 Ranger "Martini" open launch, same hull as the original 21 but no Pilot House. Pictures on T-N's page six.

The engine is a Yanmar 2 cylinder/20 HP 2GM20F and I was wondering about the normal operating oil pressure. The boat/engine runs great but after warming up, the oil pressure at idle is about 40-50 PSI and then at 2500 RPM it climbs to 80 PSI which max's out the gauge.

I changed the oil (it was still somewhat clear not black) and the oil filter, same reading.

I changed out the oil pressure sensor and gauge, same reading.

This is something that I never noticed before but I never really studied the gauge as long as the needle was above half way.

I am assuming that the relief valve at the sump pickup is working fine and not stuck since the pressure does vary but that 80 PSI seems a bit high.
