Time to make my first oil change on Ranger Tug 21. I looked at the oil filter on the boat and the only number I can pull off it is "06ADA22." Unfortunately, that number doesn't seem to match anything related to Yanmar Oil Filters that I have been able to find. The engine manual doesn't describe the replacement part. Specifically, I have a 3YM30AE engine. I would like to use an "official" Yanmar filter replacement rather than another brand.
What is it that I should ask for to get the correct oil filter for my boat?

The factory usually can sell you parts like that.

There are also 'online' vendors for genuine Yanmar parts. Unfortunately, Yanmar uses an archaic parts distribution network whereby there are territories in which each seller can work. So, you might find a good deal at toadmarinesupply.com, only to find that they DO NOT ship to your state. And, maybe, the vendor approved for your state does not have a website.

Anyway, the factory is a good place to start. Your dealer may have filters too.
 
I have a Yanmar 3QM30F....much older series...I got tired of buying from my "local dealer" over 100 miles away...so I went to Napa...they have a premium brand filter that I think is probably every bit as good or better than the overpriced Yanmar filter....I probably have used 20 of them over the years and never a problem...they are perfect..half the price and available in stock...

.. do you have a picture of the Seahorse 21 ? .. found an old advert. for one for sale but no picture .. just curious what they look like .. only 5 built ? Rob
 
For the AE engine this is what I found online

Part #119305-35151 from Yanmar
This filter can serve as a replacement for the part number: 119660-35150. The overall physical size of this new filter is smaller than the original, but it is the Yanmar recommended replacement and meets all Yanmar specifications for applications where the 119660-35150 was formerly specified. All critical measurements and specifications allows this filter to work properly.
 
I have the AE engine also and went through the same issues trying to find a filter as it was rather confusing.
I have to retract the last post I gave you

I believe that part# Yan119305-35170 is correct and supercedes the 35150 filter.
