I haven't seen a bonding wire on any transom since around 2022. I think it's a redesign of the transom that caused the change.
Here's another thing of interest. On the older style transom bracket... the zerk fittings to grease the steering arms. There's like, 5 of them. I have 2 of them that are up and under. I have to move the engine up/down, port, starboard, find the right position... I had to get a set of grease gun adapters, with a 90 degree.. it's a tight fit for 2 of them, cramped space. I hate it. Takes me about an hour to grease them, with 70% of the time being spent on 1 fitting, 20% on the other other fitting... and the last 3 take up the last 10%.
The new(er) transom bracket (2021's and newer I've seen). You simply lift the engine all the way and all 5 zerk fittings are there. Done in about 3 minutes with no fancy grease gun fittings.
