Having hard time finding replacement zinc for QSD 2.0L Diesel Cummins. Anyone know of a internet site and part #. I know it's 7/8's nut, approxilly 5/8 length, not sure tread size or dia. . Thanks for your help in advance.

The Cummins 2.0 QSD 150 factory manual calls for a replacement zinc that is 19mm (3/4") long and 16mm (5/8") in diameter. It does not specify a size for the anode plug that the zinc screws into but the one that came with my engine has a 7/8" diameter head with a 3/8-16 internal thread.

Check out the BoatZincs.Com links below to see the sizes of anode refills and complete anode assemblies that they carry. The E-1GZ refill fits the anode plug that came with my engine but I need to cut it off a little to get the right length. It is only 1/2" in diameter so I need to replace it a little more frequently.

After my previous post, I was looking around the BoatZincs.Com website and ran across a cross reference for the Cummins QSD engine anode assembly. The cost is $12.74 plus shipping and it includes the head and the washer.

Thanks for the information. I also final found the information on Boatzins.com Part# 120650-13420 Yanmar for $12.74 nut/washer/zinc or zinc only for $3.90. The Cummins QSD part# 879194217.

We found the Cummins QSD 2.0 zinc in the local marine store, it was just a little long. So with the proper lengthed zinc in hand it was easy to cut to the correct length. In fact, the one I bought had the same cut marks I made on my own.

So, buy one, keep it handy, go the store, buy a couple more and do 1 min. of trimming, you are good to go.

I received the zinc from boatzinc.com which gives cross reference and the threads were to small. So I will proably get the E-l and cut to length (3/4). Thanks again for your help.

Just spoke with Bob Olsen from Boatzincs.com and he said that they supply Ranger Tugs with zincs (same as on thier order form) with plug/o-ring/zinc (complete). He is sending me them. I'll let you know how it works out. I'll post results. Sure hope the 3rd time is the charm!!

Are you saying the 12650-13420 Yanmar anode assembly that BoatZincs.Com had cross referenced to the Cummins QSD did not fit?

See previous post related to Bob Olsen from Boatzincs.com. 3rd time was a charm - perfect match and less expansive than Ranger (sorry ranger).
