Hi there. My 2023 cb31 has had an audible hum from all zone 3 speakers for a long time. However for a while now those speakers have changed to a loud crackling noise no matter the voulme or audio source, even when volume is set to zero on all channels. After researching this it seems to me that there is a separate amplifier for zone 3. I’m guessing it’s located behind the carpeted panel against the starboard hull below the helm. I cannot see how to remove this. How can I gain access behind this panel or Is there a way to cut power to zone 3 (pulling the fuse didn’t do it) until I can have this fixed.

Also, I noticed a recent unanswered post about the Volvo d4 320 losing its Prime. I couldn’t respond to that post but wanted to say that my engine has the same problem. Starting a couple of months ago I need to push the prime button 6-10 times and then the engine starts and runs okay. Otherwise it runs for a few seconds dies and will not restart. Still trying to figure out what’s going on.

Thanks. Mike and Felicity.

Hello Mike,

There is a filter item that can help solve that issue (I'll find the part info). It is a simple plug and play method. The amp is in the V-berth behind the panel just pulls out, might be a little tough. As for the loosing prime its typically the second fuel filter losing prime and the whole fuel filter housing needs to be replaced.

Thanks Jared.
We’re out cruising. And I’ll check further when we’re back home. The panel seems looseish but I couldn’t seem to pull it out so I’ll try again.

Check for hidden screws. There might be a few.

OK thanks for the heads up!
